Smart Phones & Tablets SIG

These days most of us use extremely powerful computers that we can hold in our hands:  our smartphones and/or tablets or wear on our wrist: the smart watch.  This Special Interest Group focuses on iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches but we welcome Android users as well.  While many users of these mobile devices can learn the basic functions in minutes, our group explores not only the basics but goes beyond the simple tasks to explore the operating system and what you can accomplish with the many available apps which are usually free.  We learn from each other and share our experiences.

Our phones and tablets can be used to browse the web, read and send email and texts, provide directions and reminders, keep a calendar of events, read books and listen to music, watch videos, follow Facebook, read reviews of restaurants and service providers, check the weather or movies and their start times, monitor health, pay for goods and services, scan documents, and take wonderful pictures and videos.  There's more, but you get the idea.  There's a reason mobile devices have become so popular: they collect many resources in a single, highly portable entity.

Bring your mobile devices and/or your interest in them to this SIG that meets every fourth Monday of the month by Zoom video conferencing.  Reminders and the Zoom link are sent out a week ahead on CUE's Google Groups email.  Our new web site also sends notices based on the calendar in the site.  The calendar also contains the Zoom link. All CUE members are welcome and you can bring your friends and relatives to introduce them to this technology.
